i'm pulling the 97 motor and putting in a new rebuild the donor motor has timing chain tensioners and the 97 does not. what year was this change made as i need to get a new timing cover to fit. any part # would help i don't think you can find tis part in aftermarket.

 

It was a TSB (technical service bulletin) that added it in to any 96+ engine if a noise was present in a specific RPM range. I think it was added permanently in 98 or 99.
