97 Blazer trans fluid leak
Is there threads in it? if so there`s your problem. Get a drain plug bolt and 4-5 quarts of fluid and your back in business. Or some how you punched a hole in your pan and need a new pan. Still cheap and easy
That is a dimple to hold the magnet in place inside the pan. Wipe it off and see if that's where it's leaking. If that's it, the pan has rusted through and needs a new pan.
EDIT: This pan requires 2 extra quarts of fluid: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...131#fragment-2

Update
I was able to take a #0 Craftsman phillips screwdriver and push it all the way up in that dimple to the handle of the screwdriver with no resistance.
So the top of the dimple is open.
That almost has to be the source of the fluid, But would it just let go for no reason ??

It's only submerged in oil on one side
Just like the differential covers, they rust from the outside in. Only with that, when it pukes, the differential pukes along with it, and you don't know it until it's too late. Unlike the trans, stop as soon as the fluid runs out. If you stuck a screwdriver through the pan, my best guess would be that's where it's leaking

All you have to lose is 8 or 10 quarts of trans fluid and a wrecker call, plus a new pan. Personally, I wouldn't trust it. Fix it right: in the long run you've got less money into it, plus the peace of mind of not getting stranded, and it's fixed right.
