Default 97' Blazer w/ Check engine light on

I have a 97' blazer with 110,000 my check engine light came on a couple of weeks ago. I took it to AutoZone and had them scan it. The code was 1441 - Auxiliary Emission Controls. I had them clear the code so I didn't have to look at the light. The light didn't come back on for a week and a half. I had it scanned again, which came up with the same code and had them clear it again. I came on the next day with the same code. Anyone know what I should check first? The guys at AutoZone say it is to generic of a code and couldn't tell me where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

according to the haynes manual 1441 is EVAP system flow during non-purge cycle (what ever that means.)

I am pretty sure the EVAP system is your carcoal canister. Check for any loose or broken vacuum lines to it. Also check the air pump lines. You propable wont hear a vacuum leak witht eh naked ear. Fashion a stethescope out of windshield washer fluid hose. Stick one end up to your ear, and move the other end around the engine compartment. CAREFUL of HOT and MOVING parts.
