97 Jimmy first shift not right
97 GMC Jimmy 4x4 with 146K on the odo. I'll try and explain my problem...
It is only during the first shift from a dead stop. It will turn almost 3K rpm and then drop the rpms to about 2600 rpms and then again to about 2400 rpms and then engage. All subsequent shifts are complexly normal. I have had the trans flushed but the filter was not replaced.
When I cleaned my MAF sensor one day, the thing acted weird somewhat like above but then I found the problem...MAF connector was left off...problem went away but now it's acting somewhat the same. Could it be the MAF sensor? Vacume leak? Or am I going in the wrong direction. I know these electronic trans can act up if sensors are not working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
