Default 98 blazer 4x4 tire questions

My 1998 blazer came stock with 235 75 15 tires. The sticker on the door proves this as well. I have a friend who owns a 98 chevy blazer and it has 205 75 15 tires and the sticker on the door proves this as well. Both blazers are 4x4 and the same year so how come they both came stock with different size tires? do I have a special option?

Curious myself why different blazers spec different tire sizes..mine is an 01 4dr 4wd and it specs 235/70/15, others are 235/75/15?? Could it be suspension componants?

I agree with Patton possibly suspension components play a role in this, but there are other scenarios as well. A "loaded" 97 Jimmy weighs about 300 lbs than a comparable Blazer(I learned this from the invoicing lady at a former dealership) Most of the county Blazers that come up for auction regardless of the year usually have 205/75/15, 2WD or 4X4. The S series pickups seem to follow the same pattern from what I have seen. Another very plausible answer is rubber supply at the time of manufacture! A 1978 GMC 2WD I bought new had 7.50-16 E range tube type tires on it!!! I NEVER saw another 1/2 ton so equipped in the 70's. Regardless I would run the largest tire you can fit or afford and after install time your units speed to be aware of possible spedo inaccuracies!
