A few days ago I started having a few problems, which I think are related in some way to the drivers door. My dome light will not turn off, when I activate my aftermarket alarm it signals me that a door is still open, and the drivers door will not lock, which I never noticed on my blazer before, but know that GM has made it so some driver doors will not lock if it is open, to prevent locking yourself out. I have checked the pin switches and they all seem to be doing what they are supposed to. Is there an additional sensor of some kind in the drivers door itself that could prevent all the above from happening?
Thank you

the door trigger is in the door itself.
do you got the one that will turn the dome light on if you lift the outside handle?
i dont know where it is in the door cuz i get the door trigers under the dash, but if it was me....i would latch the door and see if the light goes off, but remember to hold the pin switch in.

yes, the dome light would come on if you lift the handle. The only way I have been able to get the done light to turn off is pulling the fuse. The other night I drove for 30 minutes and the light never went out, so pulling the fuse was my only option to save the battery. Any idea where in the door it might be? It has been many years since I have done any installations on vehicles, but I might be able to find my way around the door if I knew what I was looking for... lol

Definitely sounds like the door switch has failed. I believe it is part of the door latch mechanism if it isn't on the end of the dash... I can't remember when they made the change.

There is a pin switch at the end of the dash, it will stop the beeping if you have the door open and the key in the ignition, but is not doing anything for the dome light.
Thank you all for the help so far.

ok, take off the door panel and ther is a wire or 2 (i forget) going to the door latch. it will be hard to see but if you unbolt the latch you will be able to move it kinda into view,

and your positive that the dome light isn't on becuase you left the dimmer switch in override, or turned on the dome light at the back hatch.

I looked in the back and don't see any switch by the light there and I am positive the front switch is not in override.
