Default 98 Blazer funny clunking under acc/decell

Ok so I have a 98 blazer 4wd with a list of stuff I've already replaced.
Ball joints upper and lower, both sides
Wheel bearings, both sides
Cv's, again both side
Steering box
Pitman arm
Brakes all around
Now at the beginning of the summer I put 2" shackles on the back and cranked t bars in the front to level it out. But it seems here recently that I'm getting a clunking/cracking noise from the front drivers side, almost like it's under my feet. This happens mostly when accelerating hard or braking hard. I've also noticed it while wheeling it and even hitting speed bumps. From what I've read on here most people say it's brake related, I'm pretty certain mine isn't. It almost sounds like a torsion bar problem? If it is how hard are they to remove? Thanks in advance guys!

I'm sure you've got under it and check't it right, notice anything different with the t-bar. I don't know much about lifting one of these trucks as I've never done it..

Be sure to check that shock absorber and spring out as well, that's all I can think of..

i bet a bazillion dollars its the torsion bar mount. there is 2 of them. one on each side of the torsion bar cross member..99% sure its the passenger side one. Crawl under it and push up on the crossmember if it moves at all mounts bad.

my passenger side one went out and had that clunk under my feet. Took forever to figure it out!

Awesome, thanks for that! I didnt know how to go about checking t bars for play. It moves a bit so I'll be doing those and hopefully fixing the problem. Much appreciated! Also does anyone have a mini tut showing what to do? The t bars are wound up like a spring I assume so it can't be as easy as it looks?

Sounds like the same problem I had.

Every time I stopped hard, or accelerated you could hear a popping noise. It ended up being the door bushings.

Ok,the mounts really dont have any pressure. you will not be removing the torsion bars,or the cross members. Whatcha gonna do is remove the top nut on top of each mount and the 2 bottom bolts. then get a floor jack and carefully jack up the torsion bar member until you have enough wiggle room to get the mounts out. Problem is at least on the 1st gens, not sure about the 2nd gen blazers, but the passenger side wont raise up high enough to get the new ones in. the old one will come out in 2 pieces. They made a revised improved style torsion mount that has 3 bolts instead of a nut and 2 bolts. So you can Slide it in,then bolt down the top.

you have these

You want this style :

The driver side can actually take the old style as it has enough room once you jack the member up. old style doesnt cost as much. Autozone has em for like 14 bucks. new style is 30 bucks.

I REALLY need to make a How to on this fix. as both of mine are broke,im just cheap and got some heavy chain and chained em down. lol

What is it you do for a living again?

Edit* Please tell me that mount isn''t made out of pop metal like the motor mounts...

Bazillion in monopoly! I didnt think i had to leave all the fine print, nobody reads it anyways.

When i had a mount out it looked to be a cheap pos. rubber molded onto the metal.
