Liftgate support strut pin on liftgate broke off. Luckely, wife was not injured by falling liftgate! One strut does NOT hold liftgate up. Metal fatique seems the problem. *Something to visually check periodically. Are replacement pins with threaded studs available? If so, I'll attempt to drill and tap next to where original pin was. My local auto parts store doesn't carry replacement pins. Chevy Dealer's solution is to Replace whole liftgate! A local body shop is willing to try welding pin back on, but no guarantee it will last. A pin with threaded stud sounds like a easy solution. - Has anyone repaired this?
