Default 98 Blazer S10: Temp needle stuck at 6 oclock

Hello,

After replacing my battery my gauge needles in the cluster got all crazy. All of them bounced back into working order except the temperature needle. It is stuck at about 6 oclock (which places the needle in the oil gauge range). I have tried disconnecting the battery and redoing it but still no luck, and its been a couple months and it didn't fix itself. The rest of the dash works - and it was working fine until i replaced my battery (not sure why that caused this).

Any ideas or suggestions?

thanks!

tried tapping the cluster face over that needle to get it to unjam?
the gauges on my '99 do the same thing so before turning the key on i make it a point to tap on the cluster and it vibrates the needles enough to unstick them when doing anything with the battery out, common suspects are the fuel gauge and temp gauge.

That did the trick!! Thank you so much! I kept trying with the car already started - but i think you have to do it your way start tapping before the key is turned.
thank you!
