My truck has sat for awhile after it broke down on me. I originally thought the fuel pump went to hell. The other day I replaced the pump with a brand new one and took it for a test drive. Ran fine the first quick trip but wouldn't shift, so i took it home and added tranny fluid. Took it out and it died a mile from the house. It lost all power and all my gauges went dead. Towed it home. Dropped the tank to check fuel pump where I had wired in a new plug. Everything was fine and I have power at the plugs.
When i did the fuel pump I also wired in a new plug on my crankshaft position sensor. One of the wires running to it was broke off and the others were in bad shape. I checked these wires today and found them to be brittle so i traced the wires further back and replaced about 18in of them running to the plug.
My current problem is that I have no fuel at the fuel rail. Not even a dribble. when I turn the key I can hear the pump cut on but nothing comes up. The fuel gauge isnt registering een though there is almost 3/4 of a tank. I am broke and cant afford to take it to the shop. I am at a loss and dont know what else to do to this thing.

If your SURE pump is pumping check at fuel filter. Did you buy a AC Delco pump??? Aftermarket ones are JUNK!!!!

Im positive the pump is working. We tested it out before putting it in.
After some more research, im thinking the problem is in the crankshaft position sensor. It would explain some of the other problems I was having with the truck before it broke down. Im going to take one off of another vehicle in the yard and get a friends scanner to run a relearn program on it. Fingers crossed it does something.
