98 chevy blazer abs/ shifting problem
hi i have a 98 blazer 4x4 today i was on my way home from work when my a.b.s. light came on and my speedometer quit working so when i hit traffic and tryed to drive again i noticed it will not sift gears its still drives but at like 20 mph max.
also i don't have a check engine light on nor any other light besides the a.b.s. light and reverse works fine i have done some reserch i have found that alot of people are talking about this vss issue it seems pritty common so i checked the local parts store its only $20 so i will try that this weekend and see where it gets me. thank you

The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) or the circuit it is connected to has malfunctioned. It's easy to replace. It is located at the output shaft of the transfer case. If you have the 3-button 4wd switch in the dash, there will only be one sensor on the output. If you have the 4-button, there will be two.
