Default 98 Chevy blazer LS 4.3 Heater control issue

So my heat works great in my truck minus the fact when i go to switch the control from Blowing face/floor/defrost it only wants to blow in the face direction...Any help or input greatly appreciated....Thank you!

Check the vacuum hose under hood.

Open your hood. On the driver side up by the master cylinder, there is a
vacuum hose "t". One of the hoses runs into the fender wall. If that hose is not connected to the nipple that sticks out from the driver fender wall, you heater control will not change from defrost to floor or to face.

If there is insufficient vacuum to the black vacuum line at the mode switch in the dash, your system, (manual HVAC) will default to the BILEVEL, (face & floor) position. This thread explains testing for vacuum leaks: https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-ge...uestion-89161/
