Default 98 LT s10 engine,trans and tcase interchange ????

What years can I install in my Blazer ? I found what is suppose to be a 2000 engine trans and tcase . My trans has no 3rd or 4th and tease front seal is leaking into trans or vise versa.
Since trans is got to come out I figured I'd just freshen engine up to so the complete set up I found would be perfect for a quick swap after I go over all of it.

OK update is it is a 2002 engine trans and tcase I found. Will it all work in my 98? Thanks for all the help guys.

Yes from what I've been reading on gear it will but I'd like some confirmation.

Potential issues:

1. 3 button vs 4 button transfer case.
2. differences in drive shafts and u-joints. Inspect yokes on transfer case carefully.
3. 2002 has 2-wire knock sensor. 1998 has one wire knock sensor. Blocks are machined for their specific sensor.

As far as I know the rest should be fine as long as you use 1998 intake, exhaust, and the rest if there are any differences.

Thanks very much for the response. I never even thought of the Tcase being a auto trak .

He has not responded so I'm guessing somebody already picked it up.

Almost forgot something. A 2002 4L60E certainly has Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) with EC3 for applying the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC). A 1998 has PWM, but I don't think EC3 was used yet. The friction materials are different for the TCC (went to carbon fiber) because with EC3 there is a slight slip programmed into the PCM all the time and the converter clutch applies differently. Using a 2002 converter with 1998 PCM programming should not cause a big problem, however TCC apply could be funky. However, using a 1998 converter in a 2002 could result in a damaged torque converter due to the constant slippage.

Spoke too soon. Looked it up. 98+ with 4L60E all use both PWM and EC3 for the TCC. 1997 is transition year in GM vehicles.

Thanks for all the help and it will be good for reference as we just welcomed a 99 Bravado to the family with a 157k she needs a little love, but pretty clean I'd say.
