Default 99 Blazer Hard starting Cold

So my GF car is acting up, its tough to start and has to crank for 5-10 seconds before it catches, when its warm it doesn't have this issue. I recently changed out the plugs and will be picking up a fuel pressure gauge to test the fuel pressure and see if that is the case.

The fuel gauge is also erratic, itll go from 1/4 to 1/2 and bounce around a bit. I have done alot of reading on the fuel pump issues on the vehicle so i jsut wanted to verify any other potential issue i should look for while under the hood.

Also just wanted to note im going to change the fuel filter this weekend before i check the pressure, its 10 bucks and if i do the pump its gonna be changed anyway.

Car:
99 blazer 4.3l 4 door
110k miles

Symptoms:
Hard start when cold, cranks fine and starts fine when hot
fuel gauge erratic
feels like its missing some power (my 2.4l tacoma has more punch then it when i floor it)

If fuel pump - looking at AC delco MU1733 from rock auto, but i noticed some people suggesting to get lock rings and screens and such, what exactly do i need to do a proper fuel pump replacement?

Thank you in advance
Robert

Replace cap and rotor with A/C Delco only... that was my crank no start problem.
Sounds strange but it fixed my problem

Looked at a few videos on replacing the cap and rotor, seems like the unanimous decision with all parts is stick with AC Delco.

Also does anyone know if i will need to build the adapter for this year vehicle to check the fuel pressure? Or will i be able to get a fuel pressure gauge and it work on the schrader valve. Apparently her dad swapped the fuel pump out in 2010 but i still want to verify the fuel pressure.

not sure which is why i am going to verify the pressure to see if that could possibly be the case. People seemed very adamant about ACDelco or one other brand ONLY so if its running below 55PSI ill probably grab the proper pump and swap it out.

I think there may be a code as well i have my code reader today and will probably be reporting back later today with some more info.

ok so i got caught up in some other things and was unable to buy a pressure gauge but i did another test i seen somewhere where you turn the key on and off a few times to build up pressure then try starting and it fire right up immediately so im assuming its either the pump or a leak somewhere causing pressure to bleed overnight. too much fun...
