Default 99 chevy blazer won't start

Please help! I have a 99 chevy blazer LS that will not start unless priming with starting fluid. Once it starts runs good will get me where I want to go. But after about 30 to 45 min of being turned off will not start again without being primed. What could it be any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I am in the exact boat as you, but with a 97. Mine sputters a little if you floor it. But for a $200 truck, ya gotta expect something to be wrong !! ( my fueul pump had already been replaced prior to buying it )

I haven't actually gotten to it yet, but from what I am reading here, check your fuel pressure & post back. I'm sure others will chime in as well.....
Here's the article to help -

I would definitely recommend a fuel pressure & leak down test.

cdw78, just because the pump was replaced doesn't rule out it still being a problem for you. From the multitude of Blazer owners having problems with most of the chain store aftermarket fuel pumps, I can't recommend using anything but AC Delco or Delphi pumps. If something else was used in your case, that very well could be the problem.

swartlkk - Yeah, I agree...and I have no idea exactly when it was replaced or what brand went in.
I just haven't had a chance to do a real test, only pushing in the test valve with my finger ( at least its getting gas and does run after using starting fluid )
As soon as I can, I am going to get a fuel press. tester to put on it.

Thanks for the info!

If you are spraying it and it starts and runs until you shut it down it could be a fuel pressure regulator try keying up 3 to 4 times before you crank it if it starts regulator also you can check fuel pressure with gauge while running and watch it when you shut it off.
