99 wont start.
a few weeks ago i was having starter trouble, had to tap the starter to for it to start. then it started working perfect again about a week ago. now it wont start at all. changed the starter and it started twice. checked that battery and it was low so i got it replaced since it was under warranty. still nothing. all it is doing is the lights are turning on and it is making a single click sound that is faint to hear. i checked the starter fuse and it didn't look burned out. i was thinking it might be the alternator but im not sure. i am stumped!!!!! anything would help if you all have an idea...

I would probably guess that is your alternator. However, mine ( 1998 ) was making the faint clicking sounds as well. The battery connections weren't all the way connected. I used a wire brush and brushed off all the corrosion and that did the trick! Either that or possilbly the battery terminal isn't all the way tightened on the other end! Good luck

Make sure the starter is grounded well. The flat portion of the starter grounds to the flat portion of the block that it is bolted too. Take the Starter back off and take a wire brush to the flat spot of the block and clean it with parts cleaner. Reinstall the starter. Make sre the connections are tight at the starter and the battery.
