ABS, Brake Light and now won't shift
Hello everyone. I have some issues. I just bought a 2003 blazer a couple weeks ago. It was great until this past Friday. My brake pedal felt really odd, it felt like it was grinding and had some back pressure. Then the abs light came on, then shortly after that my brake light would flash and my speedometer would drop to zero mph.
So, I went searches for these issues and landed on this forum Friday afternoon. Read and much as I could and concluded that my abs module must of went out. I went the the module master link, that a lot of people recommended. I went and look at their abs wizard section and tried that test they said to try. First was the abs voltage, which came back good. Then I did the resistance test, it came back good. So, I proceeded to rip the brakes apart to get to the abs sensors. Once I got there I pulled it out and cleaned it up with a clean towel. I put everything back together and the abs and brake light was off. Also checked the brake fluid as well.
Yes, I thought to myself it's fixed. The next day I started it up and BAM the abs light was back. Then I took off and the brake light was flashing again.
Ok, now today is Thursday and on my way to work this morning I notice that the abs light is still on, but the brake light is flashing all the time and it wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear (I think, it might be 1st). The rpm's will get up to 3200 and not shift. So, what am asking is this all related or a new problem.
Like my transmission is going out now.
Today I'm going to pull the abd module and check if it's the right one that can be fixed.
So any thoughts or suggestions send them my way. Thanks in advance
I going to include some video I took this morning on the way to work

After looking around some more I discovered this post https://blazerforum.com/forum/engine...ter-0-a-66905/
So maybe it might be the VSS as well as the ABS module. I have another question, where is the VSS located at? A reference to a picture, diagram or a detailed text description would be so appreciated.

The VSS is in the rear of the transmission. The way it is acting makes me think you have some metal in your fluid. Causing the sensor to act up. Pull the sensor and see if it is covered with metal. If not then you should be ok just replacing it.

Well,,,,, I replased the VSS(Variable Speed Sensor) and it shift great and all the lights went away. I can not beleive all that stuff is conected.
Advance did not want to test my car because the engine check light was not on. I went to O"realys and they tested the system and right away the fault was VSS

Just a quick update: I finally got time to check out my VSS. @cw801971 I did pull it out and I didn't see any metal shavings at all. So I went and bought a new VSS and it fixed my problem. Now a weird/good thing is my ABS light is off and my brakes and working like they should. So I'm hoping that it's all fixed now.
