Default ABS Issue

I have a 2000 Blazer 4WD with a 4.3 engine. I'm having an issue with my ABS. When I start the engine, the light is normally off. However when I start moving the ABS light typically comes on. If the light doesn't come on, the steering is stiff and when I brake it is like braking on ice for a few seconds. You can feel the right front brake pulsating when depressed. If the light stays on, I don't have any issues with the brakes. It's just when the light goes on or off.

I've checked the wire going to the brake sensor and it does not show any damage. I've made sure that the wire is securely fastened to the main wire harness. I've even checked the fuse and it looks good and in the box firmly. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination so I'm at a loss. What else can I check? Any help is appreciated.
