Default ABS issue

Okay, so a new problem decided to spring up on my Jimmy. After about 5 seconds of driving, after breaking, the ABS light comes on. If I stop, the light turns back off after about 5 seconds of having the brake applied. Any guesses as to what this can be? 'Tis the Jimmy in my sig.

Omg I'm having the exact issue with my 98. It stopped for a few days but as soon as I turned heater on and at first fan was dead then lights came back.. Seem to come and go every min or two... Breaks makes them go away. WTF is this????

Well, the issue stopped and has not started up again since my original post. I'm thinking it won't happen again, but who knows, it might. It's not a problem until it does it again though, right?

Go to a GM dealership and have them hook it up to the ABS programmer. They can tell you what the light is for and reset the codes if need be.

Well, I haven't had time to get any codes scanned yet, but it's still happening occasionally. Also, now sometimes when I go to stop, the ABS kicks in for no reason. I had a 95 S10 as a work truck before and it did the same thing. I'm assuming this is somewhat of a common issue. Does anyone know what the deal is with that? If I pull the ABS fuse will the truck break as if I don't have ABS?

pulling the fuse will only make the light go out..you will still have brakes just not ABS and will cause no issues..

Well, here's an issue that crossed my mind today. I assume the ABS sensors are in the wheel bearings, correct? My wheel bearings do need to be replaced. Could this have anything to do with the ABS system acting up?

It could also be something rubbing on your ABS wire, that happened to me when my CV boot was rubbing on it when it was brocken.
