ABS Light

ABS Light
I have an odd intermittent issue. Mt ABS light has been on since I bought my blazer. I replaced the right hub and ABS sensor. The light went out after I drove it for a bit. Now it is very intermittent. yesterday i made it all the way to work, 30 miles or surface roads and 70 mph interstates, and the light remained off. today I only made it bout 2 miles and the light came on. Can air in the brake system cause this? I am going to try bleeding the brakes. The pedal feels a little spongy anyway. Could the left sensor be going bad or do they just fail?
Any insight would be great. Thanks as always.

Hey, as you probably already know this is a very common problem on the blazers. When I had this problem, I ended up taking it to a dealer so that they could diagnose it and it ended up being a bad hub, so that got replaced. Then just like you it worked fine for a while then It began becoming more intermittent, so I had them diagnose it again and they said the abs module was beginning to go bad. This sounds like the same problem, and if it is it's quite an expensive fix...I haven't looked into pricing on the module but I bet your best bet is to pull one from a junkyard...

Any full feature scan tool capable of communicating with the serial bus networked items can scan the ABS control module for codes. It isn't just a dealer only type of thing, but it isn't the free scan that Autozone/Advance Auto/etc is typically known for...
