Default ABS light on and off

If anyone can help i'd greatly appreciate it. I have a 2001 trailblazer.About 8 months ago my ABS light was on. I had it checked out, and was told it was the sensor. It would cost hundreds. They said it would be fine without it, being that we both agreed it was more of a nuisance to have. Now my ABS light is on and off again, working intermittantly. Anyone else have this problem? I don't know where the sensor is and would appreciate any input about anything concerning this. Thank you.

ABS sensors are in the wheel hubs at all 4 corners. Cost is so high because you have to replace the hub, as far as I know. If the light is flickering, it could either be a loose connection at the sensor, or a computer issue...

I believe the ABS codes can be read, might be a dealer only thing, but with it flickering it might be a new problem, giving a new code.

I have the same problem with mine, there is a code for it I can't remember the number, too lazy. You do have to replace all the hubs, which takes about a half hour per fronthub; I've done one but too poor to do the other.

I don't see why you should have to replace all 4 hubs....only the one with the faulty sensor should need to be replaced...if it even is a faulty sensor and not just a cut wire..

Well you don't have to do all four hubs, but there's not really any way to tell which one it is so I figured might as well change them all It's supposed to either be the sensors or the relay for it which is only available through the dealership for me at $350and then it has to be programmed to my vehicle for another $400. So I'm trying the hubs first
