Default abs light problems.

My 95 blazer has an abs light that comes on at approx 12-15 mph and goes out when I come back down to a stop. I cleaned the rings on each front wheel(didn't seem to be that rusty or dirty).Does this vehicle have any other components for the abs system or is it front wheels only. Is there any way I can check these sensors, if so how? Both front bearing assemblies seem to be good and tight. ANY suggestions or input would be greatly apprec. thanx. wnk.

It might be your speed sensor. I have this exact same problem and that is what it turned out to be. Have you checked them to see that they are alright?

I have a 98, that any time you wereapplying the brakes near 10 mph the anti-lock would kick in. That caused alot of near accidents. some resarch on the net steered me towards the speed sensors. What would happen is they get a little rust on them and completely malfuction. I never figured out how to clean them though, one site said GM had a recall on these. I nevertook it to dealer to correct it because I wasn't sure if they would honor it. My solution was when I changed my brakes I used drilled rotors. this so far has fixed the problem. others had suggested they were"glazing" maybe so.

To clean the sensors all you do is remove them from their mounting surface with a 10mm socket. Then use an abrasive material with a chemical rust remover like WD40 or similar on the hub mounting surface. The problem is that rust builds up under the sensor changing the distance to the surface of the ring on the inside of the hub. Also check the wires to see that they are not broken or damaged...

guywm25 i dont see how drilled rotors could have fixed the sensor problem but it would fix possible glazing that was going on., did you replace the pads as well? i think you had glazing.
