ABS light and strange noise
2001 Blazer
My ABS light stays on all of a sudden and the part next to the master cylinder (silver with brake lines on drivers side corner) is making a grinding noise even after turning off the engine. I had to remove the ABS fuse from under the hood to get the noise to stop. What is this part and what do I need to do? Brakes work fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

that part is known as the control module if its adjacent to the master cyl which means u have rear wheel anti-lock(rwal), if its underneath the cyl then u have 4 wheel anti-lock(4wal), which then its a electro-hydraulic unit. when ur abs light goes on then there is a code stored, so u should have it scanned. im not sure what makes up the module but it controls the pressure in the line and there is also a dump/isolation valve attached to the module that might be bad. but scan for codes first,
