ABS Out of Service...and MORE!

My 2000 Blazer ZR-2 has 160k miles, runs great. The ABS Module started whining (sounds like a hi-pressure pump) constantly, until I removed the fuse from the fuse block. What could have caused this, and whats the fix?
My 2000 ZR-2 Blazer has 160k miles on the odometer. Can't complain too much! ABS Module started running on it's own w/ a hi-pitched whine. I pull the fuse and it stops, w/ ABS and Brake light coming on instrument panel. Anyone know if anything electrical, or otherwise can correct this problem, short of replacing the module?
Also have a partial panel lighting outage- some of the radio control lights on the radio, and some other panel lights are out. All fuses good. Suggestions?
Finally, anyone have a box of hood shims?

Have you checked the sensors?
I have the same problem with my truck (locked up on its own, had to pull the fuse) and it's a bad driver side sensor. They are apparently really bad for getting rust under then and causing the sensor to lift, which gives a false reading causing the ABS to lock up.
and as for the lights being out, they're just burnt out bulbs. My radio has 3 of them out as well (as does my buddies, common problem). You can buy replacement bulbs for any of the interior lights...note that most of them require soldering though.

Are your brake/ABS lights on? If so, the first step would be to have it scanned with a scan tool capable of accessing the EBCM (electronic brake control module).
BTW, the Forum Help & Suggestions Center is not for vehicle related questions.

take your wheel off and look for a sensor around a toothed ring on the axle.all you should be able to see is the sensor bolted down and then a wire coming from it. http://www2.partstrain.com/store/det...C15997039.html (thats what it looks like.)
