Default Air conditioning trouble

Air conditioning is one area I do not know much about and I prefer to do my own work other than have a mechanic do it. Anyway it's a 2001. Some days the air works fine, cold as can be. Other days it blows nothing but warm air. Is there a problem like this common to blazers. From what I can hear and feel I don't think the compressor is kicking in. Last three days here in Indiana it's been 100 plus outside. After I have been on the road for about 15 minutes it starts working and stops about ten minutes later. Any ideas or troubleshooting technics- tips will be greatly appreciated.thanx

Look at the clutch in front of the compressor. Is it turning when the ac is on? If its not, then chances are you just need to recharge the system and find your leak with some r134a with dye in it. If it is turning the blend door actuator may be bad and not directing the air correcctly.
