Default air from vents

hi,
i just searched for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours and didnt find anything helpfull.

my problem is, no mater were i set the climate control(floor, vent, defrost...) i always have outside air comming inside the truck.
even with fan speed at 0/off.

i usually let it on defrost and speed at 0 because my A/C doesnt work.
but nowadays its 35-39celcius outside and on the highway/in traffic i have a lot of hot air comming inside the cabin...

i guess there is a door that does not completly closes and let outsite air get in ?
or are blazers always vented with fresh air ? doesnt make sense to me...

thanks for any help/tips !

If your selector switch on the far right has an off position then thats where it needs to be for no air

there is no OFF position. so i leave it on defrost because thats the one that bothers me the least. i have the auto climate control if it changes anything... and even if i leave the fan speed at OFF, the faster im going, the more hot air is coming inside.

i really need to know where the little door that control interior/exterior air is !
it would be better than taking off my dash...

thanks for any nelp !

On my 2002, that air door is located behind the glove box. If your year has the same configuration, open your glove box, push up on the u shaped metal rod at the top rear of the box when open, and let the box open completely, it will dump anything you have inside. Straight back is the door. With the engine running, try turning your controls to different settings as you are looking at the door. It usually closes on max A/C so the air inside recirculates. Otherwise it is open to allow fresh air to enter. The door is vacuum operated by an actuator. Sorry, but can't help with the other issues.

I believe that the only time the outside air door closes off flow of air from the outside is when max a/c is selected. CLICK HERE for a thread which shows the outside air door.

You can pull that rod down and somehow strap it in that position if you want. There shouldn't be that much airflow when you are going down the road though... Are all of your cowl vents installed properly?

The plastic pieces on the top of the cowl behind/under the hood & in front of the windshield on the outside of the truck.
