Default Airbag Light Indicator!!

Hello All, Yesterday when I drove my 2000 Blazer, the airbag readiness light came on and stayed on while driving. I just drove my car about 2 miles, turned off car, then Turned it back on, then the airbag light just flashed 5 times, like normal, then did not stay on. Has been okay since yesterday morning. I maybe started my car 6 times or so since that little problem. Is it anything to worry about? Maybe the airbag sensor had a hiccup or did not sense I had a passenger in the seat next to me. It seems okay now. Just dont want my airbags to deploy when I am driving if that light is on. Anything I should do, or just dont worry about it, until in comes on again and stays on? Thanks.

Could have been an intermittent fault that was detected. The only way to know for sure is to get the airbag system scanned for stored trouble codes. Even though the light is no longer lit, the airbag control module should still have the code stored (unless the battery was disconnected).

I installed new spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap today and I had to disconnect the battery. What if the light does not stay on again? Nothing to worry about? Just a Fault? Thanks.

Seem to recall something about either having the idler arm or pitman arm replaced on suspension, and a common problem is the wiring for the airbag system gets pinched.

Anyone with details on this?

Thats funny because I had the idler arm replaced about less than 2 years ago on my blazer. You think maybe it did get pinched?? Humm...I will check with the person that replaced the idler arm and ask him about it, maybe he can fix the pinch for free or something. Thanks.

Default air bag sensors

I had this problem six months ago where the air bag light would come on for a while and then would go off again. Turned out to be a front sensor that was going bad. I replaced both at a cost of $160 each I think. Good luck!
