Default Airplane Take-Off!!

Can anyone suggest as to what the problem might be. When accelerating from a complete stop the engine revs louder than usual and RPMs hit around 2500. This happens for the first 2 gears but once speed has gotten to over 40 seems to run ok.

It could be a vacuum leak or vacuum hose that popped off. Check the hose that is connected to your air intake, this same problem happened to me when mine came off!

Or your fan clutch. The one on my old van locked and sounds like a school bus accelerating. Remind you of that?

You say it revs to 2500, is that normal or is this just since it started acting up?
If it's normal then check what they've suggested. If it's a new thing I'd check the trans fluid, sounds like it may be low & slipping or the torque converter is low on fluid.

Don't believe the RPMs are out of whack. But it just started making this loud rev noise and a whistle type of sound. Appears when it hits 3rd gear and on the freeway seems to run right and sound right.
