Ok, I'm pretty sure this was just a really annoying coincidence, but I'd like to see if anyone may be aware of something I'm overlooking:

Coming home Saturday, the volt meter in my 2000 Bravada dropped and held steady at 12 volts, and the battery light would come on anytime the vehicle was idling. Made it home no problem, parked it and let it sit until the next morning. Next morning, I tried to pull it into the garage, and it wouldn't start - turned over fine, but wouldn't catch. Seemed to be not getting fuel. I poured a few drops of gas into the TBI, and it would catch breifly, then stumble and die.

Is there any reason that driving on a failed alternator would cause a fuel pump failure? Anything else I should be looking at? I'm guessing my first move is to get a gauge and do a fuel pressure check...

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

Actually it is probably pretty common. Your fuel pump.. running or not at key-on? There's possibility of bad connecotr at the FP. Worn, or stalling FP {like say Airtex brand}
