Default Alternator Question

I visit my local U-Pull-n-Pay salvage 1-2 times a week. Are AD244 / DR44G alternators native to any particular GM product?

Thanx Newguy

yeah. The guy at the parts house said the same. 2500, 3500 would be good ones to pick from. Then he added but they are only 100-105 amps unless the truck has power seats, windows, locks & A/C. I told him my little 4.3 Blazer had all that and he said it prolly has the AD244 / DR44G in it. If I want 135 or 145 amps the alternator housing has be be large. That way if it puts out 100-105 I can have a bigger regulator put in it. A small housing is the limiter.

This is why parts house people are not who you ask for info regarding anything automotive related!!

As far as I know its from the alt manufacture and not from GM so I would assume so yes.

Got mine off a 'Burban

Don't forget to get a longer belt (I think I ended up with just a 1/2" longer belt)

Thank you Blazen red 4x4

That one doesn't really look bigger than the one in my truck. Are there any identifying numbers on it any where?
