Alternators
Simple question. "I think"
I have a 1999 Cheverolet Blazer 4x4 4.3. I think it's an LT. Anyways, I just wanted to know what year alternator I could use. 200 amp atleast, I've been searching on ebay and the only ones I can find, the years stop at 98 or start at 00. I just wanted to know if it was absolutely necessary to have the alternator specific to my year Blazer. I know it has to be 4.3 and everything...
Thanks in advance.

I do not believe there were any changes in the alternator used on the 2nd gens all the way up through the end of production. I do not know why they would only classify them as being to 98 or 00 other than someone not updating their application charts.
You could get an ad244 out of a 96 suburban. Stock they come with 145 amp alts and can easy be built up and take being built better than the cs130 you have stock. Its a bit bigger so it takes a longer belt but bolts/plugs in on your truck.
