Default Another '95 pump

I just bought my first little beater '95 four door Blazer for $650. Not shortly after, it's giving me trouble turning over when I start it in the morning, but every time after it goes on the first try. I left for a month and got back to it completely dead.

Priming it at the CPFI works most of the time, but I can't get it to start if its been sitting for a while. My neighbor came over (he works on Blazers often) and diagnosed it as a fuel pump, even though he didn't have a tester. My service engine soon and check gauges lights are both on.

Is it a fuel pump for sure? How much would a pump + labor cost, would it be easy enough to do on my own? (I'm not very experienced fixing with cars, but I do know my way around an engine). I honestly don't care if it's not the most popular brand, I just need this thing running again.

If I decide to do it on my own or the mechanic quotes part as being too expensive (honestly, I have $500 to my name and a loan out + insurance for a car doing nothing so it has to be cheap), is this the right pump for a 1995 4-door Blazer with a 4.3 vortec?

Thanks in advance!

That appears to be the right one, but I have heard that the Auto Zone ones dont last very long, but I dont know if thats true or not.

Stick with an ACDelco or Delphi pump only. If you put any other brand in you'll be taking everything apart again before you know it to replace it...again.

If you have limited funds, you should find out what SES codes you have and make sure your battery is fully charged. You may end up replacing stuff unnecessarily. Anyway a fuel filter is a lot cheaper than a pump.
