anti lock brakes
My sons 98 S10 4 wheel drive pickup is occasionally making the anti-lock noise. It is coming from the front brakes and it doesn't happen all the time. He says if it does it, he lets up on the pedal and depresses it again and it won't usually do it the second time. I replaced the front bearing assemblies about a year ago so I don't think that has anything to do with it. Does anyone know of a common problem with these or what is causing this? thanx. wnk.

RE: anti lock brakes
My blazer does that, if I spin the front wheels in 4wd it makes the abs noise and the pedal pulsates. . . and it does it in 2wd for the rear tires, if and only if I spin them. . . so i'm anxious to see what it might be.....

RE: anti lock brakes
One of the common problems is dirt or grease build-up between the ABS wheel speed sensor and the reluctor wheel. Or it could be a wire to the sensor has rubbed through the insulation and touches ground intermittently.

Yep. Its time for a ABS wheel bearing replacement. Take an ohm meter to check the value.
If it bothers you too much, remove the ABS fuse. I think it was a 10A fuse.

Ok, first things first, you do realize that this thread is close to a year old... You may want to create a new thread on this subject.
Next, and probably the most important, you MUST include your vehicle information if you ever hope to get the proper information.
And last but not least, posting consecutively like you have done is prohibited by the rules of the forum. Please refrain from doing so again.
I'm going to lock this thread. Create a new thread detailing your exact problem and what trouble shooting steps, if any, that you have already taken. And please include any pertinent information that may give us a better idea on where to guide you to get your problem resolved.
