Default ANy know of a "cheap" OBD scanner is okay for an 2000 Blazer?

I am thinking of buying an OBD scanner to use on my 1999/2000 Blazer ZR2 and i wonder which is the best of the cheap scanners?

I have searched the forums and "sticky`s" for a okay scanner

There are a lot of scanners for under $100 at ebay and i wonder if any of them is any good?

The scanner on the picture from ebay is only $36

I have an ELM327 but it does not fit my iPhone since this is for Andoid pones and there are no wifi on it

If you're looking for a cheap one just grab a cen-tec one from harbor freight. My grandpa has one that's been around for a few years now and still going strong.

It won't do abs or srs, but none of the cheaper ones will. Start getting into that and you'll be 300+

The more you want them to do, the more expensive they'll get. I just picked up a "cheap" bi-directional scanner from Snapon a few months ago...for like 1600 bucks

If you're just tinkering and doing diy stuff, one of the cheapies will do you just fine

I've got a $20 OBDII form Amazon and Dashcommand on my iphone and after purchasing the PIDs for my vehicle it is way cheaper and WAY more functional than any scanner you are going to find under $100 and I only spent $30 on everything. Then you can just purchase the PIDs for your other vehicles for $10 each and be good to go!

Get a
wifi one wifi one
and hook it up to your phone. I use Torque pro to log the data and I open it up with google spreadsheets to make a graph. You can also use it to watch real time data.

Where do you buy PIDs? or is that just a thing for dashcommand?

I have one of these. It basically just reads and clears codes. it works well if that is all you need.

I made the mistake once of buying those cheap-o bluetooth OBD-II scanners on Amazon and getting an app for my iPhone. Keyword - mistake.

Do yourself a favor and buy a real scanner. I have this one for my 2003 and I love it to pieces. It's saved me so much frustration (and trips to Advance Auto Parts - where they will scan for free if you want to save some cash).

Here's the link where I got it from Amazon.

I have had the cheap amazon or ebay ones and they work most of the time but not always.
I now have a BlueDriver adapter and I love it. It works great with my Iphone. This one will read all on board computers, ABS, TCM, BCM, ECM, Pending, hard and soft codes and it will data log. It will also do smog checks on the computers. Its a little pricey at $100 but when you do have a code come up it also show what others have done to fix this issue.
