I may like to have more seating capacity in my 2-dr. Don't know why GM decided to make the back seat smaller in the 2-dr (well, for those storage bins, I suppose; would rather have a 3-seater back there myself).
Thinking about swapping out my buckets and putting in the 60/40 split front seat in the future, maybe get one out of a sonoma at the wreckers. Should bolt right in, right (may even be left over holes)? Might have trouble getting into the rear though, unless the whole thing, or the sides separately slide forward.

It will likely bolt in, however, you will have trouble getting into the back.

Has anyone ever put a bench seat in the front, just curious really, I have never seen one and I have owned 3 blazers/jimmys so far myself. Any my wife is on her 3 one already, just wondering if it has ever been done and with much issue.

I think the Blazer/Jimmy is similar to the s-10 sonoma p/u truck, which comes with bench or bucket front seats. Maybe the s-10 60/40 split bench seat bolts into the blazer, and bucket seats may have additional bolts missing in bench seat (doesn't matter).
