1997 blazer w/just over 100000mi. Ran fine all day then after work went out to start it and it won't turn over. Acts like it wants to go but won't. Plugs are fine, fuses in the fuse compartment fine, have seen on some of the other posts about a relay in the engine compartment that I can check. If it's the fuel pump how hard is it to change and does the tank need to be dropped to do that?
Thanks in advance!

Well, we need some more clarification on the issue you are experiencing before we can say it's the fuel pump. Does the engine turn over or does it just click? Have you verified fuel pressure at the fuel pressure test port (behind the TB)?

It didn't sound clicking like starter or alternator thingy. Funny thing now is I just tried to start it again and it started but it is now making a ticking noise not like an engine ticking knock but like arcing or misfiring like. It's been sitting since Monday that was the last time it started so any other ideas as to what it could be? Service Engine light is on now and tach is kinda jumping up and down just like a rough idle but doesn't sound rough. Can't figure out where the tick is coming from though.

OK freakin out now. Double checked the plug that I pulled to make sure it was in all the way and now it's running fine. Check engine light went off this morning so I'm not sure why it wouldn't start for 2 days and now it is and running fine. - Shelle

Was it one of the spark plug wires that you disconnected? If so, sometimes the boots can trap air when they are pushed onto the terminal. This trapped air can disconnect the terminal from the wire overtime as it expands. I typically will use a slender screwdriver in the boot while I slide it over the terminal to allow the air to escape.

Ya that's probably why it was ticking when it started again, but my main concern is why it wouldn't turn over for 2 days and then it just decided to start and is running fine now.[&:]
