Bad Fuel Pump?

Bad Fuel Pump?
Hi Guys,
This one's got me baffled. I lean toward the pump except that is runs fine in reverse.
Here's the deal...
2001 Chevy S-10 Blazer.
4 Door, 4X4.
Fuel filter 4 months old.
Fuel pump 2 yrs old. (Yeah, it's the cheep one)
Wont start unless carb is primed, then idles normal, revs in park. sounds great.
55 psi fuel pressure at idle.
In Reverse will run fine. Drove around the block, no hesitation.
In Drive will sputter and stall.
Probably the pump but what do you think?

Start by working trough the steps in 96+ Fuel System Diagnosis, then come back to this thread and let us know what you find out.
