Ok, so I pulled the spindles off of the 99 blazer and they are identical to mine. The master cylinder will also bolt right up to my 96.
Now I have a question about the newer style bearing. It has the speed sensor integrated into it. Is it the same as the old, will it still give the abs the same signals? I would think it would, but would like a second opinion.

 

Another upgrade to consider is what I did when I installed heavy-duty pads and upgraded to cyro-treated rotors. I did this because I tow with mine too.

A 2wd spindle and a 4wd spindle cannot be the same....the lower ball joint taper would be opposite....or am I really missing something here??

Did I miss that the Blazer you are pulling parts off of is a 4wd after all?....and the lower ball joints are the same??

You are correct. The lower ball joint are opposite direction on the 4wd and the 2wd. I pulled it from another 4wd.

I would think the ABS signal is the same between the two hubs or bearings. Both use the same "technology"....gear teeth for creating a digital signal. Although the spacing of the gear teeth is most likely different due to the different gear diameters.
Is the ABS electrical connector the same?

How different is the bolt spacing for the caliper bracket between the two spindles?
Are the caliper bolts the same diameter/thread pitch?

 

Yes, the plugs are the same. The new spindles utilize a different style of mounting bracket. My 96 has the two floating rods that bolt to the spindles. The 99 has two floating rods separate from two 1/2 inch bolts about 8-10 inches apart holding the calipers to the spindle.

 

So the '96 does not a caliper mounting bracket?....the caliper goes directly onto the spindle?...is this correct? I just do not remember what my '95 had....been too long ago.

Nevermind.....answered my questions by going to YouTube and finding a '96 Blazer front brake pad replacement video.
Wow.....I just do not remember this at all....and my '95 Blazer ate front pads....I had to replace those every 10k miles. O'Reilly Auto Parts got quite tired of me bringing pads back for warranty replacement.

Did the spindle bolt right up?

 

I haven't swapped them yet. I had an old one and I used it for comparison.
