Don't look for that to happen any time soon The ABS connection is the same one that OBDII uses and data transfer is done through networking using class II communications. The scan tool accesses the ABS "menu" and sends a command to EBCM to initiate the automated bleed. The EBCM and the PCM communicate and execute the bleed. The automated bleed is "operator interactive" meaning the operator is instructed to apply and hold pressure on the brake pedal during the bleed process. Actually it's quite simple, if you have a bi-directional ABS capable scan tool

 

Hello, my son acquired a "93". It's very rough but I figured since it ran, it would be an ok first car. Several dollars later I don't know. The brakes have air in them no matter how much we bleed them. They are firm with the engine off, but very spongy with the engine running.

I am unfamiliar with the ABS system. I understand air might be trapped in it. I see two bleeders on top of the module can I bleed from there with just a tube ?

I've read posts that some have just simply removed them and redone the lines up front. Is this possible and or safe.

No warning or trouble lights come on. When we first got the truck home I "think" there was an ABS light on. I don't see that, even at start up. The battery had gone dead, and finally replaced, so would that clear the light?

Any Ideas ?

 

ive done it on my 90 fullsize. truck stops way better. my 93 s10 i just unplugged the abs and cut all the wire and it stops fine. another case of spongy brakes may be frozen caliper, caliper pins or out of adjustment rear brakes

no different then the older cars with no abs

 

does a 1997 chevy blazer have a DBC-7 abs system?
