This is kinda along the same lines as what i have going on. During the day the blinkers work fine, at night when i turn on the headlights both turn indicators light up and the blinkers stay totally functional. Is this normal? i can't figure out how to insert a picture here but i have a picture as well. my mechanic looked at it and said it was the alarm causing a ground and showed me what wire, so i took it to the alarm guy he cut the wire out and it still did it. BTW is a 1996 Jimmy, it's not terribly important but I just bought the truck with 133k for $500 but it's only a 2wd.
