I was trying to change the spark plugs on my 1996 Blazer 4.3L 6 cyl. with 219,000 miles today and only got the driver side changed.
The spark plug that is closest to the firewall on the passenger side, I spent an easy hour trying to get the boot off the spark plug and it will not budge.
Does anyone have any suggestions or a special tool I can purchase to remove it?
There is not much room to play with and my arm looks like shreaded meat.
I'm getting ready to cut the darn thing off and probably need to buy new wires anyways.
Still the piece of work turns over but won't start as it is right now.

You can get a spark plug boot puller at most auto parts stores.
Also I may be wrong but it sounds as though you are trying to change the plugs from above through the engine compartment. The easier way is to go through the wheel well. From there it is a straight shot to the plugs with a couple extensions..

You are absolutely right, I was trying to change the spark plugs from the top on the passenger side. I've never known it to be any other way.
Anyway I gave up. I had the vehicle towed up to the shop this afternoon.
In another post I did last week, I mentioned the vehicle wouldn't start,
I tried to start it again before the tow truck came and it almost sounded like the new starter I had replaced a month ago would not disengage after turning the engine. I could hear the noise of a grinding starter.
So now I'm thinking it might of been the starter or a combination of things. I'm sure it still doesn't hurt changing the plugs.
Anyways, Thank You for your time and help.
