Default brake hose part no. 15051172

Hey guys, my brake hose that connects to the abs module from the master cyclinder is leaking. GM canada wants 125 for the hose. it is a hardline that turns into a braided steel line then connects back to a hardline. Has anyone changed this line to full hardline?

You should be able to replace it with a hard line, just be sure to coil up some of the line to act as a strain relief between the two. Coils should be about the diameter of a soda can and there should be 3-4 of them to allow for adequate displacement between the two.

crap, all i did was cut the flex line out, bought some 1/4" hardline, 4 fittings, and 2 joiners. I flared each end of new hardline, the line i cut that connects to the master cyclinder, and the line that goes to the abs modulator. I'll have to take a picture of my work. The length of the new line is the exact length of the flex line and shape. Here is the line that i was talking about.

I will have to redo it and add a few coils.

EDIT: i bleed the brakes, but i still have the soft pedal/all the way to the floor syndrome. I pump the pedal with the engine off and about 2 pumps it stiffens up a bit, its not rock hard and the pedal still has about 1-2cm of play. As Im applying firm pressure, i started the truck and the pedal went all the way to the floor.... does this mean my mc is shot??
