Default RE: Brake Pads

You can get a good rotor by choosing awell known name brand brake productand not some offshore brand like you find on e-bay. Raybestos makes NAPA rotors and Raybestos makes some of the best braking products in the world. The companies who make the best brakeproducts arethe ones that are B.E.E.P. (Brake Effectivness Evaluation Procedure) certified. The NAPA (Raybestos Advanced Technology) Ceramix composite (ceramic-metallic) brake pads are some of the best made, regrdless of price. B.E.E.P. certified rotors and companies like Raybestos Advanced Technology, AC Delco Durastop Performance and Centric Premium meet SAE specification J431-G10 for hardness, chemnical composition, tensile strngth and other properties necessary for the intended use.It is a toss up between Reybestos and GM AC Delco andI chose NAPA Raybestos.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administrationsets performance standards for brakes on new vehicles but there are no government regulations covering replacement brake pads. In 2002, theBrake Manufacturers Council announceda newbrake testing procedure performed byB.E.E.P.
