Default Brake Problems

Hi Guys, just wanted to see what you have to say about this... i am kinda stumped.
1st off my truck: 98 blazer 4x4, 4 door 4.3L

I am having some problems i think with my ABS. When I am comming to a stop my truck kinda has a feel like the ABS is comming on and brakes will have extra travel in them like when you slid on ice and you can feel the ABS. I notice this at about 10 km/hr and somtimes when i hold the speed at 10km/hr and dont touch my breaks i can hear what I am assuming is the ABS module or something (it kinda hums) but their is not the grinding ABS noise.

I have no idea since my ABS light does not come on, but I know the bulb is working

ANy ideas??

Thanks guys,

Mike

Does it do this every time?.. At every speed? Do you possibly have a rear caliper binding/tire sliding when you come to a stop at low speed? That would activate the ABS.
I am just wondering if your ABS is working correctly but for the wrong reasons.

ya it happens like 99% of the time at around 5mph headding to a full stop. Almost rear ended a few cars so I really gotta fix this.

As for the caliper seizing i'll take a look on the weekend to check that out. I dont know if it makes a difference but i can really feel it in the front. I also noticed a nice groove in my front left rotor. I know I have to change that but was hoping for the spring.
