brakes
have a 2001 chevy blazer when you step on the brakes its like the abs is kicking in like its detacting slipping and its dry outside
have a 1998 blazer the brakes feel sponge no brake leak how do i tell if the master cylinder is bad

Rationale: Hydraulic systems work because hydraulic fluid cannot be compressed, while air can (hence, air compressors). When air gets into the system, it makes the pedal feel spongey because the air is able to compress within the line.
Now, if this issue just "appeared", you need to go through the entire braking system to make sure there aren't any leaks at any of the connections. Somehow, air is getting into the line. (If the master cylinder reservoir goes empty, it can suck air).
The reason I sold my blazer: I didn't have the money for the new ABS sensors, and I almost caused a 4 car pile-up because I couldn't stop.
Good Luck, and be safe!!! ~Mike
