Hello All,

2004 Blazer 4.3L V6 4WD

When accelerating from a stop the A/C will make noise until either
A. Let off the throttle
B. Turn air off
C. Reach constant speed.

Best way I can describe the noise is that it has that rattle like diesel engine would sound. Been told that it sounds like the A/C clutch. Your thoughts?

 

Will it do it if you just rev the engine with the AC on? Open the hood and see if you can identify were the noise is actually coming from.

 

Tried last night and no it does not do it if I just rev the engine.

I should add the air is blowing cold and working just fine with the exception of that noise.

 

The compressor should make the noise reved in place or moving if its clutch was the reason. Do you notice any decrease in power or any other odd things happening?

 

Have you checked the oil lately?

 

I am having the same exact problem is there a easy way to fix this problem and if not how much will a shop charge to fix a ac clutch
