Default A/C Compressor High Pressure Switch

Hello,
1998 Blazer.
I'm in the process of putting in a new A/C compressor and I'm stumped about removing the high pressure switch. I've removed the snap ring but what from there? Does it unscrew or pull out? I just don't want to damage it.
Thanks! Mark

Just pull out. It has an o-ring seal. I would advise against reusing the one from your truck. Given what must be done to replace it, I would put a new high pressure switch in.

Thanks, I was guessing that would be the case. I'll go in search of a new switch tomorrow.

Follow up FYI....
I did find a new switch at a local auto parts store for about $16.00. Evidently it is a commonly stocked part. Installed in new compressor, recharged and blowing ice cold...back in business. Thanks for advice.

Definitely not worth messing with a used part for that! Glad to help!
