Default A/C not working, help me trouble shoot please!

I have a 1999 blazer 4x4. My air stopped working last year. I don't mind rolling down the windows to cool off and I drive it mostly at night because I work nights. But I would like to have it fixed. I started noticing problems when the air would kick on and off, right before it completely died. I have charged the unit and it was already full enough. I turn it on, makes all the sounds of kicking on, but blows out regular non cooling air. I hear the door shutting so I know it is doing that. What can it be? The compressor doesn't turn when AC is on, but then again I have read that doesn't mean the compressor is bad. I have already bought a rebuilt compressor but before I get it installed I would like some advice to see maybe it is something else. Thanks in advance.

The system must be charged with freon before the pressure switch will allow the compressor to turn on. You can momentarily by-pass the pressure switch in order to check the compressor operation.
If you end up replacing the compressor, be sure to change the drier and orfice tube at the same time.

is this an auto climate control system or manual? if it is the auto, try disconnecting the battery for about 10 seconds and reconnecting it to reset the body control module and then try your a/c agin. it may take a few seconds to 1 minuit to reset and start working again good luck
