Hi All,
I have a 2001 LT 4x4, and yesteday when I changed out my rear disc brakes I noticed my rear caliper steel dust shields (the ones bolted onto the axle) have rusted completely through. Anyone know where I can obtain a replacement set? Does the dealer still sell them? Aftermarket availability?

The dealer will have them. I am unsure if these are available in the aftermarket, but I believe the correct name is the backing plate. One thing for sure is you are going to have to pull the axles out to replace these.

 

Mine had to be replaced in the rear as they were rubbing on the rotors when I bought the truck but it was still under warranty ...
And yes , it is a big job especially the rears as like said the rear end has to come apart ..
They are backing plates and are available from the dealer ...
