Thx swartlkk. Codes cleared now atleast.

Now i have no error codes and still not engaging in the tc

Will remove the encoder motor assembly tomorrow again and check how the axle moves that goes into the tc. I am almost sure its the encoder motor assembly thats bad somehow.

If i was to turn the axle in the tc to 4hi for example and reassemble the encoder without power to it would it keep the car in 4hi or can it jump out of that position while driving. Just curious

This was a helpful thread. The TCCM was behind the ashtray on my 97 as well.

Of course, replacing both it and the selector switch did not fix my problem ... but that's for another thread.

BTW, I found my replacement TCCM on ebay for $50 in case anyone is looking for one.

I also have a 2001 Chevy Blazer with a similar problem. When I push one of the buttons, 4HI/4LO/Auto, the button flashes for a while and eventually goes back to 2LO. There is some noise from the front of the dash, a whirling sound and a click is the best that I can describe it. I've reviewed some of the info in the forums and also I have a friend who had to replace his TCCM and this solved his problem which sounds similar. What is most likely the problem? Should I start with the TCCM?

Default Tccm on 1994 S10 P/U

I,m locked in 4wd I can't seem to find the tccm, I have the whole bottom of the dash off and I still can't locate it, anyone know what it looks like and how big is it? also, I was told to jump the #13 pin on the code reader plug, but mine only has 12 pins and only 4 have wires.

In my '98, the TCCM is on the passenger side behind the kick panel.

Default Found TCCM

Thanks for the info. I found the tccm it was behind the r/kick panel, is there any way to test it. I'm stuck in 4x4 I can go from 4hi to 4lo but wont go back to 2wd, when I push the 2wd button, the tccm clicks and it sounds like the encoder motor is turning for about 3 or 4 seconds, the 2wd lite flashes and it stays in 4hi w/ the 4h lite on

Maybe that's where my TCCM is, right behing the ash tray next to the relays for my turn and hazards, it's clicking when I try to put it in 4hi. I clicks when I press the 4hi button then clicks again when the 2hi flashes again. and nothing happens with the transfer case along with it seems like there is no vacuum.
